Kenya Gakundu Washed
Why we love this coffee
A classic Kenyan coffee with the structure and intensity that make the origin so memorable. Vibrant, fruit-driven and remarkably sweet, it delivers layers of dark berry character balanced by a rich, syrupy finish.
What to expect in the cup
- Blackberry
- Prune
- Maple syrup sweetness
Juicy and expressive, with ripe dark fruit notes upfront, a velvety body, and a lingering maple-like sweetness that carries through every sip.
Why this coffee is a little different
This coffee comes from the Gakundu Farmers Cooperative Society in Kenya's Embu County, on the fertile slopes of Mount Kenya. High elevations, nutrient-rich volcanic soils and a favourable climate create ideal conditions for producing coffees with exceptional sweetness, clarity and complexity.
Carefully processed at the Gakundu washing station, ripe cherries are hand-sorted before being fermented, washed and slowly dried. Attention to detail at every stage helps preserve the vibrant fruit character and clean finish that have made Kenyan coffees some of the most sought-after in the world.
The result is a coffee that showcases the depth, brightness and unmistakable character of Kenya's renowned coffee-growing regions.
How to brew it
Brew it the way you normally would. Its vibrant fruit character shines as filter coffee, while the syrupy sweetness and full body make it equally rewarding as espresso or with milk.
